What are essential oils?

I am soo glad you asked.  Essential oils are found in the seeds bark, stems, flowers, roots and other parts of plants.  They are the natural aromatic compound that give them their healing and mood changing properties.   They are so very wonderful and create such a beautiful powerful treat for your nose.  I bet those of you who don't think you have ever used essential oils before really have and just don't know it.  If you have ever squeezed a lemon, the residue on your hand is full of essential oils, when you smell a flower, or fresh cut herbs such as mint or basil you have experienced the wonderful aroma's of essential oils.  Not only do these wonderful fragrances give plants their smells, but they provide the plants with protection against predators and disease and play a role in pollination.

Essential oils are non water-based phytochemicals that are made up of volatile organic compounds.  Althouth they are fat soluble, they don't include the same fats and lipids that are found in both animal and veggie oils.  Essential oils are very clean and absorbed very quickly by the skin.  A pure essential oil should have a color that ranges from crystal clear to a translucent shade of deep blue.

Not only dot these great oils smell good, but they have been used for centuries upon centuries throughout the world to help people with holistic wellness.  In ancient times up to times not more than 100 years ago they were all used for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits.  Current studies are showing that more holistic approaches to health and wellness are driving a revival and new demand of essential oils.

dōTERRA (CPTG) Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils represent the safest, purest, and most beneficial essential oils available today. They are the only essential oils that I will ingest, and they are by far the one's that I get the most and quickest results with. If you are an experienced essential oil user you can tell immediately the difference between a great oil and the others.  doTERRA's oils are just that.  GREAT!
